“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” ― Margaret Mead
But what if this small group is facing HD? The citizens are every bit as thoughtful and committed as Mead described, but the presence of HD makes changing that world to be aware of HD much more challenging. It’s not impossible. But they could sure use our help!
By now you’ve certainly heard that WeHaveAFace.org is an independent, grassroots organization founded by individuals affected by JHD/HD.
You probably know that its goal is to change the world by making a film called “The Huntington’s Disease Project: Taking off the Mask.”
You might be surprised to learn that no large organizations financially support the film. No HD societies, no organizations, no pharmaceutical industry. NADA
This might be hard to believe, but it’s true: everyone affiliated with WeHaveAFace.org is unpaid.
The organization’s needs are simple and it simply needs them: FUNDS which will (among other things)
- Help complete this necessary documentary.
- Defray out-of-pocket expenses incurred by people on the team (many of who live on fixed incomes.)
- Enter various film festivals necessary for the film’s successful launch.
The organization aims to reach this goal by June 15, 2015.

If Margaret Mead attests that the only thing that can really change the world is a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens, she could not have found an example more fitting than WeHaveAFace.org
Take a good look at your checkbook. Give what you can spare. Then ask your friends to do the same.
The group is so close to its goal of providing international awareness for our community.
Let’s help them help us.
